Dr. Juan Jose Martinez is a Detroit native, born and raised in the heart of Detroit. He holds his Doctorate in Education from Wayne State University focusing on Curriculum and Instruction, Bilingual, Bicultural Education.

Dr. Martínez has decades of experience in the field of education. He began his professional career working at CHASS Health Center, moving later to Detroit Public School. His dedication to serving students led him to continue his work at Wayne State University where he was a counselor. At this time he was also serving as a member of the Detroit Board of Education. His work did not stop there, he continued and changed gears to become Assistant to the Hon. Dennis W. Archer and later as Chief of Staff, Hon. Sheila Cockrel. His passion for education was always in him. This was when he chose to come and continue supporting his Detroit community at César Chávez Academy High School were served as school leaders for more than 10 years and the Director of District Operations since 2016. Now, as Superintendent he hopes to continue impacting all schools and all students K-12.

Gabriela Jaime began her career at Cesar Chavez Academy in 2001 as an LRE-Aide while completing her Bachelors in Special Education at Wayne State University. She soon moved into the classroom and taught a first and second grade split class from 2002-2004, and continued as a first grade teacher until 2006.  In 2007 Mrs. Jaime joined the Special Education team and provided services to students in an inclusive setting. Gabriela Jaime became the School Leader at Cesar Chavez Academy in 2011.  In 2013, Mrs. Jaime received her Master’s in Leadership Administration through Madonna University. 

Gabriela Jaime grew up in Southwest Detroit and feels honored to be a part of the Cesar Chavez Academy team and have the opportunity to serve the Southwest Detroit community.

My name is Andrew Wright and I'm the principal at Cesar Chavez Upper Elementary. I am a passionate educator who has been working in education for 15 years. I have held various roles in my career including teacher, data coach, instructional coach, and assistant principal. I am a graduate of Michigan State University and have earned my Master's Degree in Education Administration from Grand Canyon University.

Ms. Linette Garza brings more than twenty-five years of experience in education. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Madonna University and began her career as a middle school Spanish teacher—before CCA High School had even opened its doors.

​

When the high school was established, Ms. Garza’s passion for teaching and supporting students led her to transition there, where she taught a variety of English courses and served for several years as department lead. In 2010, she became Dean of Students, overseeing the Grade Level Mentor team, student discipline, academic achievement, and social-emotional support—always with the goal of helping every student succeed.

Most recently, Ms. Garza served as Assistant School Leader beginning in July 2023, supporting both students and staff in reaching their full potential. As of August 2025, she proudly serves as Interim School Leader.
