Cesar Chavez Academy grade 3 student Ricky Mungia was pretty mad when he woke one morning to find his two bikes had been stolen. Eight-year-old Ricky had two bikes - a new one of his own, and a second so his friends who didn't own bikes could ride along with him in is Southwest Detroit neighborhood.

But don't worry - this story has a happy ending!

On Wednesday, Sep. 7, officers from the Detroit Police Department's fourth precinct, along with representatives from community sponsor Marathon, visited Ricky at Cesar Chavez Academy's elementary campus and presented him with two brand new bicycles - one for him, and one for his friends to ride.
Capt. Russell Solano shared, "Needless to say, he was really, really happy; surprised - speechless, basically." Ricky's parents were thrilled and extremely grateful. Ricky's school mates cheered him on, congratulating him on his new bikes.
