String Project@Wayne teaches César Chávez Academy students... July 12, 2011 La Prensa "Cesar Chavez Academy students learn violin from Wayne State University" A brief mentions the Academic Learning and Strings, or “ALAS,” program designed to introduce a larger number of Latino/a youth to violin in Southwest Detroit. The resources and expertise of Wayne State University’s String Project@Wayne help students learn the importance of music and education. César Chávez Academy proudly participates in the DAPCEP program. DAPCEP is a
pre-college engineering program that helps to increase engineering, science and
math skills with our youth. The ready them for college and careers in the
engineering fields. DAPCEP is offered by application only. Students must apply
and provide report cards/grades when applying.
